- Stress, burn-out, myalgies, fatigue chronique et dépression. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Amelia Stollbrock is a gradutaed medical doctor, a performer and a certified Somatic Coach at the ISMS in Amsterdam (Training approved by ISMETA : The international Somatic Movment Education and Therapy Association). She has worked with the body for over 10 years, has given many workshops including somatic workshops and opened this year a practice for individual sessions. Somatics has developed over the last decades by discovering how consciousness inhabits the living body. The term is derived from the greek word “somatic” which means the body is “alive” and it´s being regulated from within. Somatic integration is an experiential way of connecting with our body in the present (embodiment) and broadening the understanding of ourselfs (embracement) from our unique perspective. This process will help finding a new balance and integration of body and mind towards fully being, accepting or recovering and developing. In practice, it means learning how to give attention to the body by focusing on : parts, like the back, the feet, the cells, different organs, the spine… and physial processes happening, like breathing, the heartbeating, digestion or the alignment of the bones in the posture, for example. It will apply for : - Chronical pain : back pain, shoulder and neck pain. (It doesn´t replace a visit to the doctor). - Postoperation rehabilitation and support for paliative medicine - Stress, burn-out, myoalgias, chronic fatigue and depression - Challenging situations in life - Wellbeing, happiness, quality of life and health - Personal development - Increasing of conciousness and performance for professional body workers : dancers, circus artist, actors and musicians. A session lasts 60 minutes and it involves one or more of the following techniques : verbal dialog, experiential anatomy, guided movement, massage, and/or guided imagery. Each session willl be guided with dialog and interaction between the person and Amelia. 2 till 6 sessions might be indicated. Appointments possible at Uccle and 1000 Brussels
